Offering Miscellaneous

All offering posts are open for bidding!

Comment on this post if you are offering anything not covered by the other posts; for example: fanvids, tarot readings, articles of clothing, care packages, letters, or any other miscellaneous items or services.

How to offer:

Copy and paste the form below into a comment, and fill out all non-optional fields. You can find an example offering comment in the community's user info.

Please include a brief summary of your offer in the subject field. For instance: Offering Chicago-themed care package.

Under the delivery section, please list the approximate date by which you expect your offered item or service to be completed and the method by which it will be delivered - via email, snail mail, or other.

If you choose, under alternate contact method you can list an IM name or specify that you would prefer to be contacted via IM or LiveJournal PM, rather than email. Under additional info, you can specify that you are offering more than one of the item or service; you can specify the charity or charities you would prefer your winning bidder to donate to; and you can also specify method of postage, if applicable, and whether you will expect your winning bidder to pay/split shipping costs.

How to bid:

Reply to an offering comment with your bid. Bids must be raised by at least $1 (USD) each time. If yours is the first bid, you can choose to pay the buy it now price, thus ending bidding on that item.

General offering and bidding rules:

Please do not delete any offering or bidding comments! If you have a problem, please contact the mods, and we will help you resolve the issue.

Any other questions? Ask them on our FAQ post, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

You do not have to offer in order to bid later, and vice versa. You may offer an item or service, or bid on an item or service, or both, if you so choose.

You may offer and bid on as many items as you like, but please keep it reasonable! Ideally all offered items and services will be delivered to their winning bidders by late February or early March, though we know some may take more time.

Offer: A small care package once a month for a year. In them I'll include postcards, tea, little trinkets, candy and pretty much anything else which will fit into a small package. I will try to theme each package.

Find examples of my work at: If you're fannish and want them, I like to include what I call papercut doodles (bits of coloured paper cut into shapes to make a picture). You can see some examples here

Additional info (if applicable): I will contact the winning bidder to ask about what you like, what you don't like, if you have any allergies, etc.

Delivery date/method: First package will be sent by January 10th (or a few days after bidding ends, I have contacted you and your donation has been confirmed) and then I will have sent each package by the 10th of each month. I will happily send internationally (I'm in the UK) but depending on where you live and my finance at the time I will decide whether air or surface mail will be best. I'll let you know.

Starting bid: $5

Buy it now price: $30
your paper cut doodles are wicked:)) have you thought about offering them alone? I, for example, won't bid for any packages but finding in the mailbox every month an envelope with with such cute little things would be nice.

Offer: Query help!

Okay, so I'm a literary agent intern. I've read a couple thousand queries. If you're an aspiring writer, I'll help you to polish that dreaded query. I will help you to avoid the errors that normally land writers with a form rejection. Agenting is really subjective, and I am definitely not an expert, but my current agent is pretty pleased with my track record of locating the best queries for her.

I can also do a reader's report for your manuscript (either a partial or a full), which would highlight the strengths, weaknesses, and competition. This only happens if the bidding goes above..um...$15.

Find examples of my work at: Alas, no examples. Strict rules against talking about the queries submitted to our agency, and the reader's reports are confidential.

Additional info (if applicable): I'm especially fond of children's and YA, but I can try to help with anything.

Delivery date/method: January 21st at the latest. (Depends on if I'm just doing query work or if I'm reading the MS too.)

Offer:Play list making service! I used to inhale music when I was in my teenage years. I was on top of all the new bands and going to shows like it was going out of fashion. Even though finding the new band was a great feeling, nothing compared to when a friend would send me a c.d filled with songs that they thought I'd like. It would make my day. Even if I'd heard the songs before, hearing them paired with unfamiliar tracks often casted a new light over them and made me enjoy them even more.
I'm offering to hopefully brighten your day and your music collection periodically throughout the year by sending you a good ol' fashioned playlist. The songs may be brand spanking new or classics but hopefully you will enjoy them thoroughly. Music is meant to be savoured and shared and I'd like to offer that to you.

Find examples of my work at: If you're interested in the type of music I tend to listen to then my last.fm profile can be found here : Me@Last.FM My music taste is generally indie/rock but I love a bit of pop now and then and even some r&b.

Additional info (if applicable): I am not a graphics whiz unfortunately so I can't promise you cover art but I will do my best to make sure the c.d arrives at your doorstep in an aesthetically pleasing way. I can offer this service to multiple 'buy it now' buyers. Maximum of 3.

Delivery date/method: Periodically throughout the year. I will make sure you receive the first one within two weeks of the auction ending however.

Alternate contact method (optional): feel free to drop a comment on a recent post in my journal to get my attention

Offer: 15 ~4" sticks of handmade incense. This is a prototype of a scent I'm developing, tentatively titled "Through the Open Window". The dominant notes are Palo Santo wood, mixed copals, and frankincense. (If you are unfamiliar with the scent of Palo Santo, it has a lovely, incredibly fresh smell - very warm and woody, with middle notes that resemble tea, and minty top notes.)

This incense has a very bright, sweet, and fresh smell. It's very woody and resinous. It's also very potent. Very helpful for clearing the air and lifting one's spirit. Could probably be used for cleansing rituals if you practice such things. This incense is all natural and contains no saltpeter (potassium nitrate or gunpowder, which is commonly used in incense to help it burn, and which is not exactly healthy to be breathing).

Please note that these are not like the masala styles of incense that are most commonly found in the US - this has no bamboo core and the sticks are much smaller and thinner. (Usually they are also much less smokey as well, but palo santo tends to put out quite a lot of smoke.) To burn these sticks, simply fill a cup or bowl style incense burner or a small, fireproof dish (a ceramic teacup or bowl would do) with sand or salt, and place the incense stick upright in the sand/salt.

Find examples of my work at: Unfortunately you can't transfer smells over the internet, but if you want to see what the sticks look like, check here. (Note that the incense you receive will not be packaged in a little paisley box. It will probably not be packaged very prettily b/c I am pulling my hair out trying to find decent packaging options. It will, however, be packaged securely.)

Additional info (if applicable): I will cover shipping in the US - if international, you cover shipping. Also, DISCLAIMER: Once I am finished tweaking this recipe, I may well sell a few bunches of it, and if I do, it will probably cost much less than my buy it now price for this auction.

Delivery date/method: Delivery date will be between just after Christmas and the end of January (this window is to cover any unexpected hangups in production).
